Instinct to Intention
The H.A.R.N.E.S.S. Method
Day 4 / Free Mini Course
Insight is not the mechanism.

You have probably tried more than one approach to this. Therapy, most likely. Books, almost certainly. A seminar, perhaps, or a course. Something shifted in the room. You felt it in your body. Then you went home to your actual life and the old current reasserted itself.

The explanation you were left with, consistently, across all of it, was some version of the same thing: you need more discipline, more commitment, more follow-through. You are not a person who lacks discipline. Which made this explanation particularly unhelpful.

Insight is not the mechanism of change. It is the thing that makes you an extremely articulate observer of your own loops. That is a real skill. It is not the same skill as the capacity to interrupt the loop while it is running.

Every approach you tried was reasonable. Every one of them worked at the wrong level.

Watch the video, then run the cost-benefit audit on one protective behavior from this week.

Now do the work

The video named the mechanism. The worksheet is where you see it in your own life.

Day 4 Worksheet
Pick one protective behavior from this week. Run the full math on it. You are looking at what your system has been calculating without showing you the numbers.
Name the specific thing your system reached for.
Time, energy, the thing that did not get done, the conversation that did not happen.
Safety, relief, avoided discomfort, maintained standing.
Not morally. Practically. Did the cost match what the system got back?
Tomorrow is the last day. It is also the most important one.
